About the role

The Nordic Medical Manager Rheumatology is a field-based scientific expert responsible for engaging with healthcare professionals (HCPs), key opinion leaders (KOLs), and other stakeholders across the Nordic region. The Nordic Medical Manager will support the medical strategy and provide scientific and clinical expertise for the company’s portfolio in the relevant therapeutic area. As this is a new role in our Nordic team, you will help shape the Medical function and lay the foundation for our new Medical Affairs team consisting of three Nordic Medical Managers and lead by a Nordic Director Medical Affairs. It is a unique opportunity to grow and develop within the role while collaborating and learning together as a team.


Main responsibilities


Scientific Engagement

  • Establish and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with KOLs and HCPs in Rheumatology and Dermatology
  • Communicate complex scientific information in a clear and balanced manner
  • Serve as a trusted scientific resource for external stakeholders


Medical Strategy Execution

  • Support the development and implementation of the Nordic medical plan
  • Provide medical insights to inform brand strategy, clinical development, and market access


Medical Education Training

  • Deliver scientific presentations and training to external stakeholders and internal teams
  • Support the planning and execution of advisory boards, symposia, and educational events


Clinical Research Support

  • Responsible for handling Nordic IITs within the relevant therapeutic area
  • Assist in identifying and supporting investigator-initiated trials (IITs) and company-sponsored trials


Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with commercial, marketing, regulatory, market access, and pharmacovigilance teams as well as HQ in Wedel
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations


Medical Information & Insights

  • Respond to unsolicited medical inquiries from HCPs
  • Gather and report medical and scientific insights from the field to inform strategy


Important when working in Medical Affairs

Extensive understanding of medical affairs tasks and activities, such as:

  • Presentation and discussion of relevant scientific data with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  • Initiating, driving and participating in Medical Affairs projects with KOLs and organising
  • scientific meetings and advisory boards.
  • lose cross-functional collaboration with commercial, marketing and market access colleges.
  • Identify, encourage and manage new research proposals in discussion with Investigators in initiating new studies (IITs) with the aim to increase scientific collaboration
  • Perform internal scientific training
  • Assist with manning a medical stand and handling medical/scientific questions from customers at local /international congresses
  • Strong knowledge of the Nordic healthcare systems, regulatory environment and marketing ethics.
  • Ability to understand and summarise scientific information/publications and make valid conclusions.


For this position, it is an advantage to have:

  • Previous experience of medical affairs position in Autoimmune diseases, preferable Rheumatology and/or Dermatology
  • An established network among HCP’s in the Rheumatology area, and the ability to build and maintain networks.


Work Experience

Minimum 3 years of experience in a Medical affairs or MSL role, preferably recent experience in autoimmune diseases (Rheumatology and/or Dermatology).


Experience from working in medical affairs or a MSL role towards more than one Nordic country is an advantage.


Language Skills

Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills, in English and a Nordic language.

Other Nordic languages are an add on.


IT Skills

MS Office365.


Education

Advanced scientific degree (MD, PharmD, PhD or equivalent within Medicine, Biology or Biomedicine) or registered nurse.
